Last night, the Sacramento City Council called for more info on financing and a formal proposal to the council on any proposed downtown arena:

WALKSacramento will look at the effect a downtown arena may have on pedestrian, bicycle and transit access and how to craft a circulation network that can actually boost economic revival and a walkable community.
Warm Soup will be served (it’s cool out there).
- What: WALKSacramento Monthly Meeting
- Why: It’s the fourth Wednesday of the month, and by the time we meet at noon on Wednesday, January 26 at the SMAQMD conference room, the Sacramento City Council will have likely chosen one of four proposals for a Sacramento Entertainment and Sports Complex and directed staff to start a 120-day review period. We’d like to discuss the impact a new arena would have on walkers. Bring your ideas, preconceptions, open minds, and whatever.
- Where: Sacramento Metro Air Quality Management District, 777 12th Street, third floor conference room.
The 12th and I light rail station is on the next block and street parking is nearby.
- When: Wednesday, January 26, 2011, noon – 1 p.m.
