May is Bike Month 2021 – WALKSacramento

Safe Routes to School:

Celebrate Bike to School Day all month long!

May is Bike Month is here!

Social distancing might keep us from hosting in-person Bike to School Day events, but it won’t stop us from bringing you inspiration and motivation to get out safely for rides – no matter if those rides are around the block or to school. Hopping on a bike is a great way to enjoy the spring weather, get some exercise, feel mentally refreshed, and spend quality time with your friends and family.

WALKSacramento’s Safe Routes to School team is hosting activities to encourage students to get out on their bikes, scooters, and other wheels throughout the month of May. Compete for most miles biked or rolled, play bike bingo, and learn something new all while competing for cool prizes like bike lights, water bottles, bike locks, and more!

Activities & Competitions For Students and Families:

Join the May is Bike Month School Challenge to compete against your classmates and friends for the most miles ridden throughout May. Students will be eligible for prizes from the WALKSacramento team.

It’s important to remember that bicycles on the roadway are considered vehicles, and bicyclists are the drivers, with the same rights and responsibilities as motorists. Can you commit to being a Bike & Roll Model Champion?

Have a little fun and learn something new with our Bike Bingo Challenge! Every student who submits a completed Bingo Card will receive a prize and be eligible to win a Kids Fitness Tracker!
